BASEBALL

Let's GOOOOO!!!

Baseball is finally back!

8 man practices have finally begun. I am too ready for the season to come around. I plan to be on varsity this year. I have to come out ready to whoop some butt, play hard, and prove the coaches that I should be moved up.

My day for 8 man is tomorrow but it would've been today, but I have physical therapy... Hopefully this hip problem will go away because I know I can play baseball with it but not football. I'm beyond ready to just give it my all for this team!
My arm's feelin' good which is something because it always hurt when i threw last year. This year I am stronger. I am faster. I am better then I have ever been.
This year I have set goals to try to reach at the end of the season!

  1. Be the team leader.
  2. Be on Varsity.
  3. Put the team over myself. Do whatever it takes to win as a team.
  4. Have a batting average over 350.
  5. Have an OBP over 400.
  6. Have less than 5 errors in the field.
  7. Have no more than 1 strike out a game.
  8. Have more than 15 extra base hits.
  9. If I pitch have a low ERA.
  10. JUST SUCCEED AT EVERYTHING.
  11. Be a GREAT ballplayer, not just an average ballplayer.
I am determined to be Great, I am determined to go somewhere and play ball in college. I don't care if its a small school or a big school, I just wanna succeed and get somewhere to play the game that I truly love the most.
I have to prove myself this year, this is a stepping stone for me. I can't let anyone down this year like I did last year. Even though last year I did alright, that's just alright. It's NOT good enough. These goals that I have set are reachable, I just have to push myself to not only reach these goals but do better!
My passion for this game started when I was a baby. It grew and grew as I played Dixie Youth, Middle School ball and now I'm here in High School and it continues to grow. I've seen some people quit playing it because they weren't getting the amount of playing time that they thought they deserved, but you know what they didn't try hard enough. No matter what I will try my best. If I'm in a slump I'll try even harder to get of it. And when I'm out of that slump I will continue working as much as I can do to be GREAT.
This year our team is going into a new division/league with all new teams. Boy am I ready for our team to show out and prove that we're not the regular A.L. Brown team. We are better and we will prove that we are.

BASEBALL SEASON IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER AND I'M READY FOR IT!!

ROAD TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP!

Doing the Found Poem was a great activity. We first read through our Day Book and highlighted the good, key parts that we liked. After I read all of my entries and highlighted, I wrote all the highlighted words on a separate piece of paper. Then I cut all of the words out. After that I thought about what I should write about. I thought that since it was game day I will write about the "Road to the Championship." I then started to write it out and finally was able to perfect the story.

This activity was definitely fun to do, I believe that we should do it again some other time.
I wrote this poem because I was in a focused mode, getting ready for our game. It came as a motivational thing that I thought of when we got to Hough's stadium. I had to get refocused after the lock down and this successfully did.

50!

Yesterday the AL Brown Jayvee Wonders played JM Robinson Bulldogs. We knew we would be able to get up on the quickly and maintain the lead. The opening drive was only 2 minutes long, give or take a couple seconds. On the proceeding kickoff our players went right down the field and made the tackle. The defense made a great stop and forced a three and out. They made a bad decision to punt to our man because he was able to get great returns the whole game. Our offense was able to rack up touchdown after touchdown. Shout out to Alex Hubble on getting his 15 yard catch!
We were up 35 to 0 going into the half!
The Bulldogs got the ball starting the 3rd quarter. Our defense shut the down and forced another punt. Our returner had a great return, sadly we had a penalty flag which pushed back to our own 45 yard line. We went out in our orange package with four receivers. We passed the ball every play this drive. The first play I had a corner route, I was wide open. Josh threw the ball to me. I dove for the ball which I probably shouldn't have done. The ball popped out as I hit the ground. The next play Josh threw for a gain of about 20 but a holding penalty pushed us back. With a timeout by JM we ran the ball down their gut and got a 3rd and 4. We had another corner route and Josh hit his man and he ran for the touchdown. The next offensive series we started to sub in some of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th strings. We kept scoring and eventually we passed the 50 point mountain! We were able to stop JM from scoring on the last drive with a stop on 4th and 5 to go.
WE won 56 to 0!!

Weekends!

We are now rounding third base going to home, home being the weekend of course!

This half day makes the base path even shorter. I can almost smell the weekend. This weekend is bound to be very fun. Tonight I will be going to the football game to see us come out with the "W". If Vance's Varsity is anything like their Jayvees then we should easily whoop some butt!
Saturday I am planning on going to Townhouse with some friends and family then going down to the farm. There are so many things to do at the farm like fish, ride four-wheelers, and shoot!! We will probably only fish and ride four-wheelers which is definitely okay with me. I will also be making some sort of pier at the fishing hole that we have found. I also need to cut the briers and grass back so it is easily accessible.
Sunday I hope to wake up early enough to go to church. After church I will be going to my mawmaws to eat lunch. She has cooked Sunday lunch for us since before me or my brother were born. Her and my pawpaws cooking has to be the best cooking I have ever had. While at their house and when I get home I will probably be watching football.

I almost forgot, We don't have school Monday!!
On Monday I will probably sleep in and do nothing until about 2:30, because I have football practice at 3. Practice will probably go to about 6:30ish and then the rest of the day I will be doing nothing!

This weekend looks like it'll be a fun and exhausting one but I'm up for it!

BEST PART OF THE YEAR

My favorite time of the year is Fall, the weather is great. It is perfect for wearing a hoodie or jacket and shorts. The temperatures range from high 50's to mid 70's. I love it when the Sun is covered by white wispy clouds.

Just the look of Fall makes me happy, happy, happy!! The leaves begin to change colors, the sunrise's and sunset's are just amazing. It puts me in a great mood!

The aromas are amazing, from pumpkin pie, to turkey for Thanksgiving. Hot dogs and cheeseburgers are cooked at my house more in the Fall then any other time of the year. Halloween comes in the fall also, which means CANDY!!

During the Fall there are three days that are dedicated to watching football, Fridays- High School Football, Saturdays- College Football, and Sundays- NFL football. Also during the Fall the is the baseball classic- The World Series.

During the Fall there are more bonfires and get together's then any other time. In fact just yesterday I went to a friends party. Us kids played water pong while the parents played beer pong. Of course I was draining the Ping-Pong balls in the cups. We also played corn hole, our only game took us at least an hour to finish.

Also in the Fall I fish the most. I plan on going down to my families farm and fish every weekend when some friends. First I have to make the path down there easily accessible because right now it is grown up and very muddy. We have this special place where stand but it is only mud and sometimes you just don't want mud on your shoes, so I'm planning on putting a piece of metal over it to make it easier. Just this past week I went down to fish and my shoes got super muddy but it was well worth it because I caught a 18 inch 8 pound bass!! My friend caught another bass about the same. All together we caught more than twenty fish which is great because we know that the fish are living and reproducing.

FALL IS THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR... in North Carolina of course!!
